NUBA is excited to be part of the Team Nunavut and the Major Games pathway.  

 

NUBA will participate in future Arctic Winter Games, North America Indigenous Games and Canada Games

starting in 2023.

NUBA will be competing in its first ever Major Games at the 2023 Arctic Winter Games

January 29 - February 4, 2023 in Woods Buffalo, Alberta. 

​

Team Nunavut  gives Nunavut athletes the opportunity to represent their territory while building lifelong memories and friendships while providing athletes high quality training and the top competition in Canada.

How to Become a NUBA-Team Nunavut Athlete

If you are interested in becoming a NUBA - Team Nunavut athlete for the 2023 Arctic Winter Games
follow the steps below:
STEP 1:     ELIGIBILTY - Do you meet the eligibility requirements?
  • Are you born in the year 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006?​
  • Are you a Nunavut resident:
                      a) Have a Nunavut mailing address
                        b) Have a current Nunavut Health Card​
STEP 2:     APPLICATION - Click the box below to complete the on-line application.
DUE FEBRUARY 26, 2022
STEP 3:     VIDEO SUBMISSION 
DUE FEBRUARY 26, 2022
  • ​Each Athlete will need to also submit a video to the coaches as part of the application process.
  • Click on "How to make a video" to see the steps needed to submit your video to the coaches. 
STEP 4:     SELECTION PROCESS â€‹â€‹
  • Coaches will select 12 - 16 athletes for each team (male and female) from the videos to invite to a territorial training  / selection camp in February or March 2022.  The exact dates are still to be determined.​
  • Only those that are selected will be contacted.
  • Selections will be TBA DUE TO COVID. (More information will be coming soon)
STEP 5:     TRAINING CAMP / FINAL SELECTION PROCESS â€‹â€‹
  • Training Camp / Final Selection Camp date to be finalized by January 15, 2022.
  • If selected athletes MUST attend to be considered for NUBA - Team Nunavut teams.
  • Final selection will be made at this training camp.
  • Announcement of team will be made 7 days after training camp ends.
